Tackling the TBR Weeks 42, 43, 44: Nov 1 - Nov 21, 2022

This is year FOUR of Tackling the TBR and I finally have things sort-of under control. My ultimate goal would be to get under 500 books, but I also have to be realistic - just think of all the books not even written yet that I will want to read. When I started this mess  I was at well over 5,000 books on the TBR, so to be where I am now is pretty incredible.

I will post on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and last day of the month.

  1. You're at least attempting to make progress with your TBR shelves! I haven't seriously read anything in probably a year now. Someday I will pick it up again. :)

    1. I am trying, but keep going off on these tangents...like today I randomly decided to serch the library catalog for every non-fiction book about NYC in the collection. *facepalm* but at least seven of them are already on my TBR!

  2. My TBR totals on Netgalley are over the 500s. I have stopped requesting, when I can help it.

    1. I hardly request at all on NetGalley right now, unless it is something I truly can not live without.

  3. Christmas Murder Game I'm seeing a lot. Such sharp Teeth needs to be a show. When was the last time we had a good werewolf show??? I started seven Husbands by TJR and she's such a good writer but I just... am not into the whole Hollywood memoir thing. Have you read Becky Chambers???

    1. Christmas Murder was okay, not my fave but not a terrible way to spend a couple hours. I LOVED Teeth, it was so much fun! I love Old Hollywoodland, so I loved Seven Husbands. I've also read Daisy Jones, and Malibu Rising, and Carrie Soto, obviously. I LOVE all four of those. I also read one of her earlier books, Maybe in Another Life. It was okay, but not anywhere near as good as her work since Daisy Jones. I've not read Becky Chambers, I don't think. Maybe?

    2. Oh maybe I'll stick with Seven Husbands then. I ike the writing style, easy to keep reading, it's just not my usual thing. Maybe In Another Life I remember liking and it does sound like she's only gotten better and better since. And Becky Chambers! You should try Long Way To A Small Angry Planet and see what you think. One of my favorite books. Or the Galaxy and the Ground Within which I just finished. Her worlds are cozy and hopeful- I call her hopepunk?

    3. Her writing just flows so well, and yes I think she has gotten even better since Another Life. If you plan to keep reading her newer work, read Daisy Jones next. Malibu Rising and Carrie Soto are both so good, and you don't necessary have to read them in a particule order, but they all exist in the same universe and there are little Easter Eggs you find if you have read Daisy Jones and Evelyn Hugo. Nothing major, but they are all connected.

    4. I'm a big fan of Fleetwood Mac so Daisy kinda appealed to me anyway

    5. You'll love it then...I feel like I told you this two years ago :P

    6. You did... probably. I've been wanting to read more of her books for forever but they're just not my usual thing. Oh, I saw your comment about Maeve from like... weeks ago. Yes that little bitch! :)

    7. They're not mine either - not a lick of mystery to them at all. But her writing is so hypnotic, I will read everything she writes from Daisy Jones and beyond.
