I know I said I was back and then promptly disappeared again, sorry! I had some really great books that I was happily lost in and time got away from me. Oops.
You can find my Worst of the Worst 2025 post HERE.
Here is my collection of 5-Star reads for 2025, in no particular order.

Quite a good year, I think. Have you read any of these? If so, are our assessments the same?
Happy Reading!
Sarah
I've read The Exiles and have her most recent audiobook to read. I also have The Family Plot but have not gotten to it. Good to hear it's on your best of 2025 list.
ReplyDeleteI really like the series, she's a fantastic author. I've got a few others of hers to get to that I am waiting for from the library. The Family Plot isn't the greatest written book ever, nothing groundbreaking, but it was so much FUN. Hope you love it, too.
DeleteJust added 'The Unwanted' to my Wish List. Plus, should be reading 'The Dry' soon(ish)...
ReplyDeleteI think you'll like it, it's pretty much what you've been looking for. The Dry is great too, I like the whole series so far.
DeleteWow, what a list. Thanks, Sarah.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great reading year for sure!!
DeleteLooks like it.
DeleteI had far fewer 1-star reads, and just posted those yesterday. I love comparing the two lists.
DeleteWe were not home for a couple of days, hubby's aunt died and we had to go to Southern Germany for that. Must have a look on your page.
DeleteOh no, I'm so sorry! Condolances to your family <3
DeleteThank you. She didn't have children of her own, so she was special to all her nephews and nieces.
DeleteThat's how it was with some of my Grandpa's brothers and sisters who didn't have children of their own, and even my grandpa's aunts! I knew two of them, but was still young when they died.
DeleteI didn't have any aunts and uncles without children, the one with the least had three, but I also had a few with six and eight.
DeleteYour family must be massive! My grandpa had seven brothers and sisters and my grandma has three, so I have a lot of second and third cousins.
DeleteYes, it is. My parents had several siblings and even though some brothers fell in the war, there were still plenty left. I have more than fifty cousins.
DeleteThat's so crazy! I have four first cousins and am older than the next one by ten years. The youngest is 19. So basically, I had no cousins growing up. I was in college when the second and third were born, and graduated by the time the fourth came around. Eleanor is close in age to the youngest three than I am.
DeleteHubby only has four cousins, as well. We are a lot closer to them. But I have one cousin who has become a friend since we moved back and we meet him and his wife all the time.
DeleteThat's awesome! My youngest cousin and I are the closest of all of us. We are addicted to concerts and love the same music, so we are always planning our next show. It will probably not surprise you, given previous conversations, that our focus right now is on all the guys from One Direction, lol.
DeleteThis was one of the cousins I was closest to when we were little. They lived closest and were also closer in age than some but somehow, we always had fun. And no, I'm not surprised. That's often how it goes.
DeleteWe definitely have fun. We went to Indianapolis together to see Taylor in 2024, then saw Zayn in Vegas in January of this year. Now we've got Louis in Minneapolis/Chicago and Zayn in St Paul this summer, and probably more coming, lol. We have not totally given up on seeing Harry at MSG, but we are hoping for a tour in 2027 if that doesn't work. he's doing 30 nights at Madison Square Garden and tickets were gone in seconds.
DeleteSo do we. We will go to a Japanese drum concert together next week.
DeleteHave so much fun!!
DeleteThanks. I'm sure we will.
DeleteI didn't like Hell Bent as much as Ninth House, but I'm glad to see you did!
ReplyDeleteI definiitely agree with that, Ninth House is better for sure. But I am just so enchanted by this whole concept that I overlooked a lot of things in Hell Bent that I probably shouldn't have. I am so excited for ook three!!
DeleteYou've got so many titles that I'm adding to my list! The Barn was an exceptional read for me last year too!
ReplyDeleteGood!!! I can't wait to see what you think of these! The Barn was devastating, though that probably goes without saying. Easily one of the best, most horrible books I have ever read.
