Nora Reads | October/November/December Edition

You might notice a little change here, Eleanor has decided to go by Nora now. One of the things I loved about the name from the start - besides the fact that Eleanor of Aquitaine was a badass queen - is that it is versatile; my girl could choose what she wanted to be called, whether it was Eleanor, Elle, Ellie, Nor, or Nora.

Each month Nora and I share the chapter books we read either together or that she's read on her own. I love that she is exploring new genres and finding new authors to love.

    1. YES!! I reread them over and over and over as a child. In elementary school my best friend Amy and I would play Anne of Green Gables at recess. I would be Anne and she would be Diana. We always roped one of the boys in to playing Gilbert for the pond scene, but for the most part had to pretend Gilbert was there because the boys never played him right, lol

    1. Eleanor really liked it! I am struggling to find appropriate YA for her, since she's still only twelve. But she's so advanced in reading that middle grade isn't cutting it anymore. Basically, any book she is interested in we have to research extensively first to make sure it is not full of SPICE!

    1. Oh yes she is - she even picked up the Federalist Papers for herself because she loves Hamilton so much.

  4. We haven't read any of these but my eldest did read The Outsider for school and I had read and loved it when I first read it as well. So of course we had to go watch the Broadway version of it.. so good.

    1. It was one of my most favorites as a child. I read it a million times before getting to it in school, so I practically had it memorized by then.
