Tackling the TBR | Week 15 & 16 | Apr 15 - Apr 30, 2026

Here we go!

This is year SEVEN of Tackling the TBR. When I started this mess I was well over 5,000 books, so to be where I am now is pretty incredible.

I will post on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and last day of the month.

Previous Week's TBR Total: 1,452

On My 'Currently Reading' Shelf
(This does not mean I am reading all of these at once. As soon as I get a book from the library, NetGalley, or a publisher/author/marketer, I put in on my 'Currently Reading' shelf. Yes, I know I have a problem. No, I don't want to do anything about it.)

Read from my TBR

Books DNF-ed: 0

Books Added to TBR: 0

Books Removed from TBR: 1

New TBR Total: 1,449

Happy Reading!

  1. So, have you stopped buying books in order to reduce your pile? Because, no matter how many books I eliminate, I always add more.

    1. I almost never buy books unless they're by very specific authors - basically just Dan Jones. I don't re-read, unless I've got a new book in a series and need to remember what happened before. I have a five-shelf bookcase full of books that I went on binges and bought a few years ago, but many came from Half Price Books, a used bookstore chain here. I will sell them back when I am done. Eleanor is the only one who gets new books, because she rereads over and over and over.

    2. You know my predicament. Also, in Germany you cannot buy new half price or reduced books. Books have a set price. You can only get them cheaper if they are used.

    3. Ah yes, I do know your predicament well - so frustrating!!

I LOVE Half Price Books so much. They mostly sell used books and I've always found books in great condition. They also sell new books, but those are not the ones I am buying. I think they're at a slight discount, but not a lot. Our bookstores that sell new books only, like Barnes and Noble, discount new releases 20% for a short time.

    4. There's a law in Germany that doesn't allow any of that. They want to save the booksellers. And in a way, it helps. Even the big online sellers can't reduce new books here.
