Stacking the Shelves #362

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature hosted by Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc.

  1. 'Girl Bandits' looks *interesting*. That's definitely one for 'The List'!

Mall trip recently, so the last 'bumper' buy of the month. It should be pretty quiet for a while now. I think there might be one (or two?) you could find interesting...

    Fiction:

    Boudicca's Daughter by Elodie Harper
Evil in High Places by Rory Clements
Miss Smilla's Feeling for Snow by Peter Hoeg
    Walking Gods by Sylvain Neuvel

    Non-Fiction:

Carthage - A New History of an Ancient Empire by Eve MacDonald
Exterminate! Regenerate! - The Story of Doctor Who by John Higgs
Conquer We Must - A Military History of Britain, 1914-1945 by Robin Prior
The Forever War - America's Unending Conflict With Itself by Nick Bryant
Tank - The 10 War Machines That Changed the World and the Remarkable Men Behind them by Mark Urban
Eagle Days - Life and Death for the Luftwaffe in the Battle of Britain by Victoria Taylor

    1. I hope to start Girl Bandits this weekend, but we'll see. I am trying to get more reviews posted and you might be interested in a couple, if you don't already know about them.

Carthage and Forever War have potential for me - are those the ones you thought I'd like?

    2. Yes, they were the two. I know how you feel about historical fiction so I was assuming that the Boudicca book wouldn't make the cut!

I have a History of Northern England review coming up soon. You might like that.

    3. Absolutely correct, no historical fiction for me. I think we talked about the northern england one but I can't remember now.

  2. I hope you enjoy all of these when you get a chance to read them. I only added one this week. Have a great weekend!

    1. Thank you so much! I've read most already because I am avoiding ARCs again for no good reason.

  3. An interesting mix. I've just read a book called The Serial Killer Support Network which is the second one to The Serial Killer Support Group by D B Stephens.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Funny story - I found Support Network because of you! I saw my library had Serial Killer Support Group so I put that one on hold and got the Support Network ARC from NetGalley. Did not realize until after I finished Support Group that the one I read was by a completely different author (Saratoga Schaefer). And I only realized it because I started the ARC and nothing made sense with how the supposed previous book ended. So, I am on the hunt now for the actual book one in the series because my library doesn't have it, lol.
