I literally say this to my mom every time she visits for the weekend. I'm 35. I'm not sure if that makes it more funny, or less funny and more sad. Either way, they're MINE, ALL MINE.
When people ask me why I'm still buying books with so many unread I look at them in a way that says "Are you Crazy?" and "I'm sorry but could you repeat that in any language closely associated with English?"
I just consider it to be a Right Wing conspiracy to make us all dumb and in response go out and buy MORE books - even one's I have no interest in just to show 'them'.... [lol]
Good! My mom loves to read, which is where I got it from because we always had tons of books, and when book-order time came around at school, I got all the books I wanted because Mom values reading. But even she has to shake her head sometimes when she looks at the shelves crammed with books that I have not yet read.

ReplyDeleteHa, meeeee toooo! I can not think of any justification for not buying books. That is just a bunch of malarkey.

DeleteHa, yes!! 'They' do want us to be dumb so they can control us and I will have NONE of that! #ALLTHEBOOKS! :D
DeleteYes to that! My house of books is a non disapproval zone!
