AAUUGGHH!!

This school year has started off terribly and there are so many bad behaviors to correct that were learned last year with our previous lack of support. I have hardly read at all, which is KILLING ME. I have written nothing all week, also killing me. I am even going up to school today for a few+ hours to redo everything - including lesson plans that I had already written for next week.

Needless to say, I am super stressed and one of the biggest things that helps calm me is reading. I have had time to do that and it is seriously stressing me.

I am not taking a break or anything that severe from my book blogging, but I will definitely be posting a lot less for a while until we get things better under control because I need to focus on the job that pays the bills. I am very blessed to have an amazing supervisor who is helping me out, and I would be lost without her because this situation is so foreign - I have never had a year start like this in the six previous years that I have been teaching in the Behavior Skills Program.

Lots of prayers and happy thoughts are much appreciated!

Happy Reading,
Sarah

  1. Ahh! Hopefully things will calm down as the kids get used to the fact that summer's over and it's a long way to go until December..

    1. Ain't that the truth! Things are really coming together now, but still not where I need/want them to be. We will get there though, thank you!!

    1. Thank you!! There are changing being made that are making progress go a little faster. Not perfect, but little by little we improve every day.

  3. Oh no, sorry to hear this. And not to make light of it, but maybe this guy can help. https://media.giphy.com/media/Bp1urA9f0XrW/giphy.gif

Seriously though, sending supportive thoughts your way. :)

    1. That was the laugh I needed! My supervisor has basically put a new reinforcement system in place to help. I have never needed one like this before, it was such a shock to me that the kids were nuts! Not the regular 'end of summer/beginning of school' nuts, either. Like, NUTS! But we are making progress now, moving forward.

  4. Kids always seem to come back from the summer restless, badly behaved and lacking focus. I hope things get under control soon for you!

    1. Thank you! It was such a shock; this is my 7th year teaching in the behavior skills program, and I have never had a year start like this! But we have made progress and slowly but surely are getting things together. Some days have been easier than others, but we will get there!
