Tackling the TBR | Week 18 | May 8 - May 14, 2023

Here we go!

This is year FIVE of Tackling the TBR and I finally have things sort-of under control. My ultimate goal is to get under 500 books, but I also have to be realistic - just think of all the books not even written yet that I will want to read. When I started this mess  I was at well over 5,000 books on the TBR, so to be where I am now is pretty incredible.

I will post on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and last day of the month.

  1. Nice to see your name come up again. Some interesting books among them. I'd be interested in "Library".
    Hope you are doing well.

    1. It's kind of slow-going. Not sure why because it is about libraries but I'm not going to DNF this one.

    2. What a shame. Maybe it will grow on you. Good luck!

    3. Okay is not good enough for a recommendation. Thanks.

    4. Yeah, I can't say I would recommend it. It was so dry and boring, something that should never describe libraries.

  2. You're reading a lot of books at one time, just like me! The TBR pile keeps growing, however. Happy reading week.

    1. I am such a mood reader, so I have to have a lot going at once. I have become more selective over the years about what I put on my TBR because that pile is out of control.

  3. Oh no, I like the cover for Swell. And I like the cover for The Castaways. I thought the cover for Butts was hilarious before I even read the title. LOL

    1. Sometimes pretty covers hide crappy books, I have found lately and it is such a bummer. I DNF-ed Swell, but may go back to it later on because I liked Shiver, which is by the same author. But surfing is so boring to me. The Castaways was okay, but I think I have learned my lesson with this author and won't be reading anything else by her.

  4. The castaways I need to get. Still haven't read One of the Girls.

    1. I'd definitely read One of the Girls over Castaways. Castaways was ok but nothing special. Girls was GREAT.

  5. Butts: A Backstory may win the award for best title ever!

    1. Lol, right? Unfortunately it was not nearly as good as I was hoping for. The history aspects were great, but the author inserts were annoying.
