First Line Friday #170

First Line Friday is a weekly feature and simple to do - grab the book nearest you and post the first line. Carrie hosts this over on her blog Reading is my Superpower.

More than two millenia have elapsed, but Alexander the Great is still a household name. His life was an adventure story and took him to every corner of the known world. Good looks burnished his image. His memory and his glamour persist.

Happy Reading!

    1. He's fascinating. Everything he did at such a young age, he ruled the known world practically.

  4. "The image is iconic and the history one of wartime victory against the odds. Yet in many ways, the advent of the Supermarine Spitfire was a minor miracle in itself."
