This morning while I was finalizing my Stacking the Shelves post for the week, Eleanor was asking the tough questions! And yes, I am aware of the fact that despite my constant shouting loud-and-proud of how great non-fiction is (it's the best), that all my all-time faves except one are fiction. These are books I read over and over and over when I was in elementary, middle, and high school. Though I've not read any of them in a while, they are books that remain my favorites, those that deeply instilled the love of reading into my heart and soul.
What are your faves? Not just favorite of the moment, but all-time favorites that you would automatically recommend if someone asked for suggestions?
Happy Reading!
Sarah
To a bookaholic that is *never* an easy question. After 2 days thinking about it I had to give up - my head was starting to hurt! [lol]
ReplyDeleteCruel and unusual punishment, seems like..
DeleteThose are only the ones I thought of off the top of my head. Then I went to my Goodreads Shelf where I collect my extra special 'all-time faves'.
DeleteI asked Eleanor the same question and she had plenty of trouble with the question too!!
DeleteThat is a good list. Some of my early life favorites match yours. I was more in love with The Secret Garden than The Little Princess, but I read them both many times. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn still gets me going. Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm was another one. I am sure there are more.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed The Secret Garden too! But A Little princess is among the most of my most faves. I have never read Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, if you can believe it!
