    1. Doesn't it feel GREAT to stock up once again?! I am actually surprised with how restrained this list is - I was expecting a few dozen at least!

    1. Oh, and via kindle I ordered 'Losing an Enemy', on the Iran deal that was malevolently wrecked. Figured I'd read about the accomplishment this week instead of focusing on how much worse things are about to get in the ME thanks to you-know-who.

    2. I have heard such good things about it, I am excited to get into it.

    3. I saw your review of the Iran book on Good reads I think? I don't know that I could bear to read about it, knowing what's happened in the last week. Oi.

    1. It was so good! I was cautious at first because some reviews said they were glad they listened to it instead of reading it, because of all the different people telling their parts of the story. I found that I loved the writing style, but that could also be because I like reading oral histories, and that's basically what it was, albeit in fiction form. Either way, I don't think you can go wrong, it is a great book.

  4. You got some wonderful books this week! The Stephen King book on writing was really insightful. And I LOVED Daisy Jones and the Six. I hope you enjoy them.

    1. Thanks so much! I have been meaning to read the King one for ages. He is one of my favorites, even though I do not read much fiction at all. The Shining, however, is one of my all-time favorite books. Daisy Jones was also a great read, but I loved Evelyn Hugo and figured Daisy would be another phenomenally interesting character.

  5. I've heard such great things about King's On Writing. I hope you enjoy all of your new books! Those Amazon deals are sometimes too good to pass up, aren't they? Have a great weekend!

    1. I have heard so many great things too, and have been meaning to get to it for a while. I could not pass it up for $1. Daisy was a steal, and those Prime picks were free!

  6. I love library sales! I have to stay away though because I still have to read the ones I got last time. I got The Likely Resolutions of Oliver Clock and In a Field of Blue as my free Kindle books this month. I often don't get around to reading them, but they're free, and they sound good!

    1. It's really good, I got it for $2.99 as a Kindle Deal of the Day on December 31st. I don't know if I would buy it at regular price, but that's me personally because it is fiction. I think it is $11.99 regular, not sure. But definitely a good read.

  8. I've added a bunch, but highlights are: big, wonderful thing-a history of Texas. Being Texan, and a history lover, I can't wait to dive into that four inch tome.

The Library of America collection of Edward Goodis, mystery writer.

    The Vampire Archives and...

Classic American Crime Fiction 1920s annotated.

But really that's only the tip of the iceberg.

    Happy reading 2020!

    1. I really loved it. I probably would not have given it a try if I had not already read "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo" by the same author because I am not really a fiction reader, but I really loved that one and am so, so glad that I gave Daisy a chance.

  11. I keep hearing good things about Daisy Jones & the Six. I am also very curious about On Writing. I hope you enjoy all of these!

    1. Have you read "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo"? They are by the same author and even though they are drastically different writing styles (Daisy Jones is told as an oral history) they are both excellent. I would not have read Daisy had I not already read Evelyn, because I feel Reid is such an excellent story teller. I also got Daisy for $2.99 as the Kindle Deal of the Day, which I totally saw by luck, so I knew I had to get it.
