Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week's topic is to honor Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday, which is today (or will be in an hour). The downside of reading non-fiction is that our covers don't tend to be pretty, so instead of finding covers of purple, green, and yellow, I found some titles that at least had those words in them on my TBR. Some I've read and some I've not, and some are treasures Eleanor and I enjoyed together.
Happy Reading!
Sarah
I don't think I've ever read Harold and Purple Crayon. Can you believe it. My TTT Colored Covers
ReplyDeleteIt's still one of my favorites and my daughter still loves it.
DeleteLOL - Good one!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea how to even begin finding covers with colors because HELLO! I have a million books. So this was the next best thing lol
DeleteI think non-fiction sometimes gets prettier covers in the UK.
ReplyDeleteI think you are right there. But even there, hardly any of them are purple.
DeleteEllie - I agree 100%. I am super jealous of so many pretty UK covers - such as the Karen McManus books. They're gorgeous.
DeleteMarianne - that is true too, which is unfortunate because purple is my favorite color.
DeleteAaaaah, I'm sorry for you. My favourite colours are green and then blue, so I find lots of great covers there.
DeleteYou are so lucky!
DeleteI know. ♥

Thank you, Colletta, and thank you for stopping by!
DeleteThe Yellow Yacht sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Eleanor liked it a lot - we raced through those A to Z mysteries pretty quickly.
DeleteGreat idea for the challenge. I was glad there were at least three colours to choose from for my TTT, I doubt I would have found ten for each of the colours. But I totally understand your problem. It was great for some, a lot of fantasy books have purple colours. I never read the, so ...
ReplyDeleteYES!! I have seen so many lists with absolutely gorgeous fantasy book covers and I am over here pouting because all my favorite types of books have such boring covers. Always black and white and red and off-white, it seems. It's unfair, I tell you. Completely unfair.
DeleteSooooo sorry. I have a similar problem. It depends on the books you read. As I mentioned on my page, I hardly have any with pink covers. Though purple isn't all that often, either. Well, we can follow some fantasy and chick lit readers here and enjoy their posts. 😉
DeleteYes! That is definitely what I did this week when taking a look at others' TTT posts.
DeleteThe American Plague was an excellent read.

Good to know, thank you! And thanks for coming by :)
DeleteAw these books look so cute. Here is my post-https://paigesofbook.blogspot.com/2021/02/top-ten-tuesday-books-i-pre-ordered.html.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by!
DeleteAnne of Green Gables is also on my list this week. Happy reading :D Here's my TTT if you want to have a look https://readwithstefani.com/books-with-green-covers/
ReplyDeleteIt remains one of my most favorite books of all time, to this day. I loved the series, but that one especially.
DeleteFun way to do this one. Harold and the Purple Crayon was a favorite with my boys. But oh, the amount of crayon drawing I had to clean off the walls of the apartment where we lived before we moved!
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine! Luckily Eleanor was never a kid who decided drawing on the walls would be something really fun to try, lol
DeleteI love your take on this topic! And oh man, those Boxcar Children covers took me straight back to my childhood
ReplyDeleteRight?!?! All of my childhood books are at home with my mom, boxed up in the garage and I can' wait to get to them so Eleanor can start reading those and Baby-Sitters Club, etc. And the early American Girls books, too.
Deletei know that geophysics texts are always brown, lol...
ReplyDeleteThat's the worst! lol
DeleteI remember Green Eggs and Ham fondly. We read it over and over when my kids were little. They later read the Anne of Green Gables series but I never did. I can't say that I have any experience of the others you feature.
ReplyDeleteGreen Eggs and Ham was also one of my fave Seuss books when I was a kid so I am glad Eleanor found it hilarious too. I loved the whole Anne series, but the first book is always a head above the rest. I read that book so many times, the cover is practically falling off. I can't wait until Eleanor is old enough to read it.
DeleteOooh! This is a nice spin on the topic! Great list!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my TTT!

Thank you Ronyell, and thanks for stopping by!
DeleteAnne of Green Gables... I loved those books as a kiddo.
ReplyDeleteYES! I loved the series, but Green Gables was always my favorite. At recess my best friend and I would play Anne of Green Gables. I was always Anne and she was always Diana, and none of the boys would ever be Gilbert so we had to pretend. Our favorite scene to re-enact was the boat scene.
DeleteA nice twist on the theme! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Nicci!
