Sometimes all those Post-it notes look a little overwhelming, though slowly but surely I am making progress and I am so excited to see how this project turns out. I hope I can do this mighty queen justice, and tell her story the way she deserves it to be told.
Out of curiosity, do the different colors of the notes have a thematic link? For instance, would orange stickers refer to Henry VIII facts and green stickers to Katherine facts, that sort of thing?
ReplyDeleteEr, Henry II and Eleanor facts in your case!
Delete(Sorry, when I hear "dysfunctional" I think Henry VIII. ;))
DeleteNo worries, most people do! But the Plantagenets were far more dysfunctional, for far longer - just look at the War of the Roses! Or all the cousins stealing the throne from one another!
DeleteThe colors do have meaning, you are right. Though in final form it may look a bit different, I have roughly divided the book in Eleanor's early years, her marriage to Louis VII and time in Paris, the 2nd Crusade and its aftermath, her marriage to Henry and growing their dynasty, their living apart and the boys' first rebellion/her imprisonment, Richard and Eleanor specifically after Henry's death, then John's reign and her final years.
I am in awe!
ReplyDelete(Do you get a special post-it discount at your stationery shop?)
I wish! I try to watch for the sales (like buy 2 get 1 free) because these tiny scraps of paper with minimal adhesive are SO EXPENSIVE!
