Books From The Backlog #20

Books from the Backlog, hosted by Carole's Random Life in Books, is a fun way to feature some of those neglected books sitting on your shelf unread.

I am featuring books in the order that they were added to my Goodreads To-Read shelf, so sometimes there will be a couple weeks in a row of books on the same topic.

Why did I add Warrior Queens to my TBR?

Because badass queens are where it's at, starting with Boudicca. I hope I never have to be as fierce as she, but I'd like to think I could be if necessary.

Have you read this book, or is it somewhere on your TBR? If you've read it, would you recommend it to others?

Happy Reading!
Sarah

    1. You know me, all about those QUEEEEENS! Since the men have kind of fucked up politics for the last however many decades, we are about due for a lady to come in and clean this shit up! (or Bernie. And I fully recognize the irony of me constantly screaming FUCK THE PATRIARCHY while simultaneously supporting an old white man.)

    2. Haha right?? Besides maybe Bernie would pick a woman VP (actually I'm sure he would) and then we're good too lolol.

    3. I think he would, but we can't afford to lose both him and Warren from the Senate. If one of them gets the nomination, picking the other would be a golden ticket, but honestly the VP doesn't do a whole lot. Both are more powerful in Congress. I'd be cool with Kamala as VP...though I don't think she would settle for VP.

    4. I just meant (and this sounds terrible) if she had to step IN (since he's like, 78, or something). In fact I'd be surprised if she DIDN'T. And I like Kamala- her little flameout here has me a little disappointed. Warren's awesome of course, but she's getting painted with that ultraliberal tag and the humanoids are going to have their image of her painted for them instead of doing their own due diligence and understanding she's FOR them. Ugh lol.

    5. Agreed on all counts. I like Kamala too, but Sanders and Warren are my faves. I think her drop off has to do with all the bullshit about being unlikable - which only ver seems to apply to women. I'll still vote for any of the nominees (except of course Gabbard, because she is totally an undercover Republican who is not even undercover very well, given how much Fox loves her). Warren is the most prepared candidate and literally has a plan for everything.

  2. I know exactly nothing about this queen. I need to read a bit more history it seems. I hope you enjoy this one!

    1. Boudicca was definitely a bad-ass and I wish so desperately that we had more information about her.
