Stacking the Shelves #81

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature co-hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc.

Amazon First Reads (Feb)
The Silence by [Pearce, Daisy]

What did you add to your stash this week?

Happy Reading!
Sarah

  2. I can only echo CK. Only one?

I bought a book last week -- "The Sand County Almanac", inspired by its being quoted in a book I read a few weeks back, Where the Crawdads Sing. A girl I'm trying to date also loves the book, so I also have less literary motives. :p

    1. Yes, only one! Busy work week, meetings, etc. I am sure next week I will be back on track.

I hope your plan works in your favor and you are able to woo her with your knowledge of her favorite book ;)

    2. (exasperated sigh) We'll see. We went out several times in December, but now that school is back in session she is completely focused to the point of being overwhelmed by her trying to finish this PhD. She's confident she'll be done by December, but that's a long time to pine! :p

    3. That IS an awfully long time, but if you went out a lot in the last couple months, then you know if it is worth the wait or not. What is she getting her PhD in??

    1. Thank you, Megan! I only recently began Prime, in the last few months. I was very delighted to find that First Reads is one of the bookish benefits to Prime.

  8. Well, I went to the library to pick up hold and came home with 3:
The Night Fire by Michael Connelley
Portrait of a Spy by Daniel Silve
    Flashback by Nevada Barr
All tried and true thriller writers as far as I am concerned.
