Stacking the Shelves #89

Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature co-hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc.

Might as well take advantage of the trial before it expires; almost none of the books on my TBR are ever available on KU though.

Do you have much luck on KU or Prime Reading, finding books that interest you or are already on your TBR?

Happy Reading!
Sarah

    1. Have you ever used BookBub? That is how I amassed so many ebooks so fast. It searches Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc and finds really great deals on books. You select the genres you are interested and every day it finds books in those categories. I make it a habit to never buy a book for more than $1.99 unless it is extra extra special.

  2. It's about 50/50 on my free Prime reads, but sometimes it is because I picked wrong. LOL As to KU, I have a long list of books on KU that I want to read though admittedly only a few have been books already on my TBR. I treat them both as ways to test drive new authors.

Hope you enjoy these ones, Sarah!

    1. That's a great idea, 'test-driving'! I wish there was a better selection of non-fiction on either First Reads or KU. I mean, I get it, historians tend to write a bit slower than say, a cozy mystery author, but still. I have sometimes picked wrong too for my Prime free read, lol, I know how THAT goes!!

  3. I have never tried KU before, and really haven't been tempted to try. I know many who love it though and it works well for them. I don't always select books through Prime, but occasionally one catches my eye. I often forget to select one before the month is up though. Probably for the best as my TBR collection is already huge. LOL I hope you enjoy your new books. Have a good weekend and stay safe and well.

    1. My problem too! My TBR is huge but I always grab a First Reads, now that I know about it! You might have better luck with KU than I do, depending on your genre preferences. It is often slim pickings for quality non-fiction!

  4. I've never used either one actually... I probably should.

    1. Do you have a Prime account? If so then you get a free book every month. You may also have better luck than I do on KU, because you read so much more fiction than I.

    2. I do have Prime but all I ever do with it is watch the occasional show and the free shipping. I really should take advantage of the other benefits...

    3. I don't use a ton of the benefits either and I should be watching the movies/tv more to make it worth-while. I think you would find some books you like in the First Reads each month, there's always something thriller-y!

    1. Good, you keep managing your own stacks really well to make up for the fact that I just requested 20 new ARCs on NetGalley. My TBR is going to topple!! lol

  6. One book in. Brian from Babbling Books keeps reading and reviewing books about quantum physics, a subject I have struggled to understand. Now I have a list from him, in order of difficulty. Still, I decided to undercut even that and ordered a used, though updated, copy of Quantum Physics for Dummies. It came in the mail last week but I have not even opened the cover yet.Ha Ha I am still afraid.

    1. That is beyond me as well, and I applaud you for even giving it a try. I firmly believe there are just some subjects I am not meant to understand and quantum physics is just one of those special topics. I will look forward to your highly educational reviews when you get to them!
