Stacking the Shelves is a weekly feature co-hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality. It is a chance to showcase all the goodies you've collected throughout the week, whether they're bought on-line or in-store, an ARC or a final copy, borrowed from a friend or the library, physical or digital, etc.
***As you might have noticed, there has been a big increase in my YA reads recently. I have found some really great books by Black and African-American authors and I am trying to amplify as many voices as possible. I have a reading list going and am trying to include as many genres as possible, for all age groups. Take a look and let me know if you have any to add to this list: #BlackLivesMatter Reading List***

ReplyDeleteFiction:
Last Light by Alex Scarrow
CTRL ALT Revolt! by Nick Cole
The Dead Lands by Benjamin Percy
Non-Fiction:
Deadly Companions - How Microbes Shaped Our History by Dorothy H Crawford
Empires of the Sun - The Struggle for the Mastery of Africa by Lawrence James
Whew! This is the first time in a while where I am safe from your books, lol.
DeleteYou finally got most of your library holds!
ReplyDeleteFINALLY, right?? Although I am sure you have some new treasure that I will have to snag. Between you and CK, I will never get my TBR under control!
DeleteOoh, I read The Hate U Give and look forward to reading On the Come Up.
ReplyDeleteOnly 2 in for me this week:
Pizza Girl by Jean Kyoung Frazier from my Nervous Breakdown Book Club subscription.
The Tortilla Curtain by T C Boyle, ebook from the library to be read for a reading group.
I really liked On the Come Up. As I was reading I thought I would end up loving it even more than The Hate U Give, but in the end I ended up loving THUG the most still. Even so, it is a FANTASTIC book and you will love it.
DeleteOoh you got Good Girls Lie on here. That's been on my list for weeks but my reading has been so awful lately. I am going to read it though! Hope you like it...
ReplyDeleteRead it in one day, it was so good! I could not figure out the sociopath and I knew it wasn't Becca because the author def wanted us to think it was Becca at times.
DeleteWow, you have found a lot of books. I got Stella By Starlight too! I hope it’s good.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I would love to know your thoughts when you finish it. I really liked it, but felt the end was kind of abrupt. Still, a very solid middle grade text that I will definitely have available for my students.
DeleteThat's a great library haul! I've been eyeing up Slay; I hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteMy weekly roundup!
The cover alone is swoon-worthy, it just pops. Fiction is so not my thing, but since I started this mission to read and promote more fiction by authors of color, I have found some amazing titles. I am normally a non-fiction kind of girl.
