It will come as a surprise to literally no one that Eleanor and I have both done a pretty solid amount of reading when school closed in March due to COVID-19. It's summer now and I officially have a second grader. We will still be working on school material over the summer, but much more leisurely now. I figured we might as well, since most of the places we love to visit during the summer have taken the position of remaining closed until further notice. Besides, I don't feel comfortable taking her out anyway.
Each month I will share the chapter books we've read for the month. It is fun to look back on everything we've read. We've been reading chapter books since before Kindergarten and her attention span as a four year old was definitely something to brag about. Eleanor was born a reader and that makes my heart so, so happy.
For a while Eleanor had grown tired of reading the Magic Tree House books, but a couple weeks ago she decided she wanted to finish the series so here we are!
Do the kiddos in your life have an interest in any of these?
Happy Reading,
Eleanor and Sarah

What a *SUPER* mix of books!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love that they started these non-fiction companions. Sometimes Eleanor has so many questions about the people and places that Annie and Jack interact with, so these are great and reading level-appropriate.
DeleteExcellent! Yes, my granddaughter and grand niece loved these books.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! Plus, I love that my little book dragon also loves non-fiction just like her Momma!
DeleteBack in the old days when in-person school was a thing, I used to volunteer at the elementary school supporting its homegrown reading program. The Magic Treehouse books are SUCH a hit with the younger grades. They just can't get enough!
ReplyDeleteYes!! And thank goodness the series got better as it went along. The first few, I was not sure I could survive because it was all so simplistic. But Jack and Annie are so much more real now, and I LOVE the fact trackers and field guides. I hope Osborne writes more super editions, we really loved that one too.
DeleteOh, what a fun list. :)
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by earlier!
Thank you! I am very blessed to have such a little reader.
