State of the ARC #24

State of the ARC is a monthly feature hosted by Evelina at Avalinah's Books
I am temporarily hosting until she is able to get back into it. So, until then, thanks for joining me here! If you are new to the meme, you can check out the guidelines HERE.

Links go to my review. The majority of the ARCs I receive are through NetGalley. Some have come from publicists, or were offered to me from a publisher who specifically approved me for it on NetGalley; I will always note in the review how I acquired the ARC.

When I first started blogging my monthly State of the ARC I felt like I was drowning in ARCs. My main goal was to get my NetGalley feedback ratio above 80% and thanks to this meme, I slowly but surely clawed my way up. At my highest I was at 97%. I am currently at 84% now after this binge.

How have you done with your ARCs in the last couple months without State of the ARC around? Did you keep posting your own, or are you just starting back now?

I am so excited to be helping out, let's talk ARCs!

Happy Reading
Sarah

  1. Your books look really cool! And I really wanted the astronaut teacher book, but I can only wish on NG, so I probably won't get it, a shame! Oh well. My ratio is currently like 79% because I had reached 80%, but I had a binge as well! It's very slow to rise cause I have tons of books read, so one percent makes up several books or something like that.

    1. That stinks that you can only wish for books on NetGalley. I wonder if it is because of licensing and such with bloggers mainly being from the US and the UK? It's really unfair that there is not a more even distribution, that they could not just make things available to all. I would definitely recommend finding a copy of the McAuliffe book when you can, it was really good.

  2. I'm curious about Life in Medieval times and Murder in the Garment District after seeing them on your list. My ARC list is insane right now.

    1. I am in the middle of both right now and really liking them. I hope to have their reviews done this month. Wishful thinking probably, even though this is only the beginning of June. The link will be open for this month through June 6th, or you could start working on a post for June now if you want to participate. It is always really interesting to see the actual data.

  3. I've got myself up to date again so am relieved and happy about that. Might have gone overboard on the requesting though :-/
Fortunately it's so hot around here at the moment, there's nothing else to do but read!!

    1. That's good you are caught up! It has been super hot here this week as well, so we have stayed in to do a lot of reading and snuggling and watching movies!

  4. I don't have a ton of ARCs but as I read and review and check some off my list, new ones come in so the percentages kind of stay the same. I'm at 80%.

    1. I have so many right now! I was doing so well for a while, too. I am at 84% still, but hopefully that will change soon. I am finishing a few and though I hate to do this to an ARC, I might even have some DNFs. Eek.

  5. I'm almost completely caught up on my ARCs! I have a handful of older books I need to read and review on NetGalley, and I'm listening to their audiobooks to get through them faster. :) It seems like you've added quite a few to your stack. ;)

    1. YEAH LIKE I DON'T EVEN KNOW HOW THAT HAPPENED AND I WENT FROM 97% TO 83% WITHIN JUST A COUPLE DAYS. IT'S LIKE SOMEONE WAS A BAD INFLUENCE FOR A TWENTY MINUTE SPAN OF TIME WHERE I REQUESTED 28 NEW ARCS. No worries though, the ten after that I will totally take the blame for, lol :)

That's so great you are caught up! I really like the way you set up your posts, and I feel like mine still is not quite what I would like it to be. I don't know, I will have to play around with it some more for the month of June.
